Christmas Fair at PCH
Students of all ages took to learning interesting facts about “Christmas Around the World”. SSEN:MMH had a stand that allowed parents and students to work together in a fact-finding activity.
We had some students saying Merry Christmas in Spanish, Italian, French and many other languages. Students were surprised that Russian people believe that Dez Moroz (Father Frost), dressed in blue and white, leaves presents for children on the 7th of January.

Volunteer Week Morning Tea
Week Nine gave us an opportunity to show our volunteers our appreciation for their wonderful service in our schoolrooms. We held morning teas throughout the week, with Pam Statham's pretzel chocolate mix a great hit! Our teachers very much enjoyed spending time with our valued supporters.

WASO Christmas Concert
We were lucky enough to celebrate Christmas cheer with our patients and a concert by the gifted musicians from The West Australian Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra treated us to magical music that we sang along to. On the wards, some of our patients were fortunate enough to meet the musicians with their instruments, for a quick chat and a demonstration of the instruments.
The day was rounded off by a very special visit from our Director General of Education Lisa Rodgers. Lisa Rodgers visited our students on the ward and had tea with our teachers before opening the concert.

Stop-Motion Animation Workshops with Steven Aiton 2020
Now in its ninth year at Perth Children's Hospital, The Artist in Residence (AIR) program offers a positive distraction to being in hospital. The program is based on maximising the benefits of arts in health and healing, and is supported by evidence that patients feel more relaxed, happy and less bored by participating in these creative workshops. For further information click on the link to PCH Foundation Facebook Page.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2020
On the 27th of May 2020 at 11:00am, our school participated in virtual and in-person simultaneous Storytime readings of Whitney and Britney: Chicken Divas by Lucinda Gifford. The patients at Perth Children's Hospital received their own copy of this book from the Starlight Foundation, donated by Scholastic. They were also able to participate in art and craft activities on the day. The Starlight Foundation screened a reading of the book.
Book Bunker
Our students are lucky enough to participate in a literacy initiative that the school runs in partnership with PCH’s Fun on Four program. Wonderful volunteers from Fun on Four’s Book Bunker spend Tuesday and Thursday afternoon sharing the delights of the literary world with our students.
